Solitaire Free: The Classic Klondike Solitaire Game

Solitaire is one of the most iconic single-player game using a deck of cards, what used to be known as “the only game in town” has evolved to become “the most played card game in history”. For those new to the term, Solitaire is a broad term for the game; this is because there are over 400 variations of the game that uses the standard 52 decks of cards alone. Nevertheless, just like other iconic card games, there is one variant that stood up from the rest, and that is the Klondike Solitaire.

Klondike, for starters, got its global acclaim with the help of Microsoft, as it was included in the company’s Windows OS from Windows 3.0 to Windows 7. That said, although the Windows version is one of the best digital version of Klondike, we are not going to talk about that one. Instead, we are going to focus on the new version of the same name courtesy of MobilityWare.

MobilityWare Version versus The Rest

Solitaire by MobilityWare takes the game of Klondike to a new level. Although the game gets its inspiration from the Windows version, calling it a clone is more of an understatement. Part of what makes this version the better variant among the sea of Klondike games in the free-to-free market comes from its unique presentation. Unlike other Solitaire games, the one developed by MobilityWare preserved the classic gameplay popularized by Microsoft and added some modern twists into it.

One of those modern features is the integration of daily challenges. MobilityWare has somehow managed to infuse a single solitaire puzzle on each day of the month. Each time you solve one of the daily puzzles, the game will award you with the crown for the day, which will eventually evolve into trophies by the end of the month. There are three types of trophies in the game; the first one is bronze which is awarded to players who solved 10 daily challenges, silver for solving 20 puzzles, and gold for those who managed to solve each puzzle in the game’s calendar.

Relative to the daily puzzles/challenges is the Leaderboard Ranking. As you may have noticed by now, one of the aims of MobilityWare is to make the game of Solitaire competitive. Leaderboard Rankings are divided into three categories, First Play High Score, Best Score, and Fewest moves. Each of these ranks is updated throughout the month based on the player’s performance.

Other Game Features

In addition to the exciting competitive elements are modern features like a hint/undo button, background/card face/card back customization options, lifetime statistics, draw options, scoring standards option, adjustable difficulty option, orientation, and so much more.

To that end, if you are looking for a Solitaire game that features the classic gameplay mechanics with all the modern elements seen in a casual puzzle game, then, look no further than Solitaire by MobilityWare. Discover the unique and exciting features of this highly acclaimed not to mention one of the most downloaded solitaire variants in modern gaming free of charge.
